What is the Difference Between KN95 and N95 Masks?
KN95 level is one of the levels specified in Chinese standard, GB2626-2006, N95 level is one of the levels specified in American Standard and 42CFR84. The technical requirements and test methods of these two levels are basically the same, but they belong to different national standards. N95 respirator is one of the nine kinds of particulate matter masks certified by the National Institute of occupational safety and health. " N " means non oily particles, which means that under the detection conditions specified by NIOSH standard, the filtration efficiency reaches 95%. As long as the product meets the N95 standard and passes the NIOSH review, it can be called N95 Face Mask, which is the standard of the United States and has the highest recognition in the world. KN95 Mask is a kind of mask with filtration efficiency for particulate matter in China, and the filtration efficiency is greater than or equal to 95%. The key to wearing a mask is the close of the face. Please check the instructions carefully before wearing.
N95 Mask is actually a Respirator. Respirator is a kind of respiratory protective equipment. Compared with the ordinary Mask, N95 Mask fits the face more closely and can effectively filter particles in the air.
Where " N " is not resistant to oil, which can be used to protect non oily suspended particles; 95 means that the filtration efficiency is greater than or equal to 95%, indicating that after careful testing, the Respirator can block at least 95% of very small (0.3 micron level) test particles.
In terms of design, according to the priority of the wearer's own protection ability (from high to low): N95 mask > Surgical Mask > General Medical Mask > ordinary cotton mask. If worn correctly, the filtration capacity of N95 is better than that of ordinary masks and medical masks. However, even if the wearer fully meets the requirements, the risk of infection, disease or death cannot be 100% eliminated.M
